Join me for a guided bonefishing trip in the Bahamas
Fly fishing in the Bahamas for Bonefish is one of the most exciting types of fly fishing an angler can do! Bonefish inhabit some of the most picturesque places in the Caribbean, making them ideal for destination fly fishing. I’ve spent 20 years fly fishing the flats, exploring the Yucatan, Belize, the Bahamas, Panama and Florida. In this time I’ve learned a lot about bonefish and saltwater flats fishing. In the past few years I’ve begun taking select fishing clients to some of my favorite Bahamian islands to bonefish. These trips are different than the conventional lodge experience and more akin to friends doing a “do it yourself” type fishing trip.
If you’ve ever wanted to bonefish but weren’t into the regimented (and expensive) fishing lodge, this trip is for you. It’s a great way to learn about fly fishing for bonefish in a fun, relaxed way- no guides yelling at you because you can’t see the fish or having to deal with strangers at the dinner table. Much like my cabin fishing trip, I take care of all the logistics, hospitality and guiding you’ve come to enjoy fly fishing with me over the years.
We’ll fish Grand Bahama island together, targeting its legendary bonefish. Grand Bahama is easy to get to, has beautiful remote beaches and big bonefish! This is the perfect way to learn about bonefishing in a personalized, private way. Trips are designed to give you the knowledge and confidence to bonefish on your own in the future, all while enjoying an excellent fishing experience! Days are spent both wade fishing the flats together and fishing the flats by boat with local Bahamian guide and friend, Shervin Tate. Shervin is one of the kindest, most knowledgeable guides on the island and happily poles clients on the flats while pointing out bonefish, sharks, turtles, and blue holes.
Best time to fish in the Bahamas is November through May.
